In Christianity, the Apostle Paul was one of the first great evangelists of his day. So successful was he that it became impossible for him to travel to all the faith communities that were springing up everywhere around the Mediterranean area and elsewhere.
Thus, out of a bit of innovative thinking and sheer necessity, he became a prolific letter writer. And thousands of years later, out of divine providence and miraculous care, today we have many of those letters. In fact, nearly a third of his letters make up the New Testament of the Holy Bible.
Innovative thinking and sheer necessity. These attributes have defined many of the creators and inventors of products and technology that is in existence today. I often watch in fascination a Shark Tank episode where I find myself shaking my head…”Why didn’t I think of that!”
I was recently taught the 60/40 rule by John Maxwell. He states, “In everything, give 60 and take 40.” The success of our days is often not by the harvest we reap, but the seeds we sow. When we live generously, there’s always a return. I’m confident there are still problems to solve, race issues that need dealt with, products that need created, services that need provided, viruses to protect ourselves against…and you, gentle reader, might be just the one to accomplish the task.
Like the Apostle Paul, think innovatively, sometimes out of sheer necessity. The world needs you…your creativity…your unique ability. You were made on purpose for a purpose. Live it. Give back. Take less than you give. Live a life on purpose.
“Let us not tire of doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not faint.” The Apostle Paul
