When all is said and done, there are three things you can never get back:

Time.

Words.

Opportunity.

Time is our ultimate finite resource.  It keeps ticking by, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it.  And in the distance between morning and night, you get to decide what to do with that time.  You can waste it, or spend it wisely.  You can re-live your regrets, or plan for a bigger future.  You can set up camp Below the Line, or make the conscious choice to stay Above.  You can treat others as annoying cohabitants on this planet, or show kindness and love to those around you.  Time is measured in moments.  This moment…this one…then that one…then the next…each moment added together, makes a life.

Words spoken land in the ears of your fellow people.  Words spoken with anger and contempt will land badly.  Words spoken with love and encouragement will land well.  Poorly chosen words spoken to loved ones can often be the ones we regret the most.  Even if we’ve been forgiven for harsh words spoken, they still were heard, you can’t get them back.  There’s a fine line between forgiving and forgetting.  We should forgive, but forgetting can be hard.  Let your words, which can’t be taken back, be full of kindness and hope.

Opportunities come.  Opportunities go.  Fear often prevents us from capturing the best opportunities.  Pushing through that fear often leads to memories we’ll never forget.  Taking a calculated risk, capturing the opportunity will often lead to a bold life.  Turning back in fear and allowing opportunity to pass us by will often lead to a life of regret.

Time, words, and opportunity.

You can’t get back time.

You can’t un-say your words.

You can’t rewind to an expired opportunity.

To live life to the fullest, you must make the most of your time.

You must be slow to speak and purposeful with your words.

You must push through your fear to capture unique opportunities.

May you do so with love and kindness.

And may you live on purpose today.
