We have a way of wanting to blame others for our problems.

Yet, oftentimes the root cause of our deepest challenges are brought on by our own inability to adjust our expectations or delay gratification.

Problems begin when we want comfort without having to work for it.

Excellence without having to strive for it.

Fulfillment without having to fight for it.

Progress without having to toil for it.

Freedom without having to battle for it.

The solution to our problems lies just on the other side of what it takes to earn it.  Without discipline, your expectations remain unchecked and desire for ‘my way or the highway’ takes hold.  And, taken to the extreme, this stubborn mindset causes us to drift away from the comfort, excellence, fulfillment, progress and freedom that we craved in the first place.  It turns us into blaming curmudgeons that live below the line and are no fun to hang out with.

So then, what shall we do?

Take the common path of least resistance and sulk in our problems?

Or, shall we work, strive, fight, toil and battle through the issue and get to the root of what matters to you.

This is the way to earn it, and every earned thing makes the victory much sweeter.

You are entitled to nothing.

You want it?  Earn it.

And live on purpose today.
