This equation will set the tone for your life.
Event + Reaction = Outcome
On the left side of the equation are the inputs. These inputs will equal the Outcome.
Of the two inputs, there is only one that you can control… Your Reaction.
You cannot control the Event.
In life, there will be a myriad of Events that happen… both positive and negative.
It will be your Reaction to those events that will determine the Outcome. A bitter, frustrated, angry, Below the Line Reaction will affect the Outcome adversely.
A humble, understanding, patient, loving, graceful, merciful, Above the Line Reaction will affect the Outcome favorably.
It’s the quality of your Responses, not the quality of your Events, that will determine the quality of your life.
Good Events, while nice, don’t give you a good life.
Bad Events, while hard, don’t give you a bad life. It’s how you Respond to your Events that determines the quality of your life.
